A hot meal without electricity? That’s perfectly possible if you practise it beforehand.

Why this is important

During a power cut or camping situation, you need to know how to prepare food. Many people only discover then that they don’t even have matches anymore. Preparing yourself for such a situation is therefore necessary.

How to do it

Use a gas stove, barbecue or campfire. Cook something simple: soup, rice or pasta. Make sure your pots are suitable for open fire. Note how much gas or wood you use and how long it takes. That way you’ll know what you really need.
